Verizon and AT&T announced they’ve encountered a “nationwide issue” preventing voice calls from going between cell phone carriers, NBC News reports, but neither company specified what caused the issue. The problem hasn’t impacted text services for customers or the cellular service for First Responders. Calls to 9-1-1 are also being connected.
“What’s up with y’all today! My phone decided to stop making outgoing calls. Says it’s unable to connect,” one customer posted on social media, apparently unable to reach the company’s customer service team. It’s unclear how many customers for the carriers were impacted.
