Sources tell the New York Times that last year US Southern District of Florida Chief Judge Cecilia M Altonaga and another federal jurist on the circuit approached MAGA Judge Aileen Cannon and asked her to give up now-convicted felon former President Trump’s sprawling classified documents theft indictment and hand it over to a more experienced judge who could actually handle it and Cannon, naturally, refused to do so. What made Cannon’s shitty lack of humility even more egregious is that a handoff would have allowed the case to be tried in Miami’s federal courthouse which is already equipped with a SCIF. Cannons home courthouse in Fort Pierce does not have one which cost American taxpayers God knows how much to build a new one in her rural alligator town.
Altonaga, a George W Bush appointee, had tried to appeal to whatever husk that remained of Cannon’s integrity by telling her it would be a bad look for her to be overseeing a criminal case concerning the fat orange fuck who had appointed her, especially after Cannon made all sorts of stupid moves in the lawsuit Trump filed against the government following the Mar-a-Lago raid.
