“Donald Trump has an excellent record in some ways, but he also has a tendency to shoot himself in the foot. A clear example of that now is his persistence in disavowing Project 2025 on the basis of Democrat lies,” wrote PJ Media columnist Catherine Salgado on Tuesday in the lede to her piece titled “Why Does Trump Believe Dem Lies About Project 2025?” some solid cope on the day’s drama.
Salgado gets into recounting how the main Project 2025 coordinator, Paul Dans, was canceled, most likely temporarily, from his post at the Heritage Foundation and then the Trump campaign ripped the whole fascist plot in a press release. Even though this reportedly was simply a turf war between Team Trump and Heritage/2025, it’s hard to separate it from the context in which the Orange God Emperor keeps trying to disown a policy plan slapped together by his most loyal minions.
And Salgado doesn’t separate it. “Lies about conservative coalition Project 2025 got so ridiculous that even leftist NewsGuard fact-checked them, and yet Trump cannot seem to do the most basic research. Why would he or anyone on his side believe anything Kamala Harris and her media lackeys say anymore? Have we not learned to distrust whatever propaganda the leftists screech?”
Then she adds “Sometimes Trump is insufferably stupid,” lol. That is true, but so are the conservative “pundits” who crank out this type of “content” while being unable to understand that this is all kayfabe and political expediency of fake “moderation,” that if he does get elected again Project 2025 is his policy handbook. And that there’s nothing to be gained by complaining openly and creating dissent among the MAGA base who for whatever reason simply don’t fucking get it.
“[This benign-sounding policy statement from 2025] EXACTLY what Trump should be focused on. Instead he’s buying into Democrat soundbites and falling into Democrats’ traps,” Salgado continues.
