Reality show “star” Amy Slaton, one half of the titular duo in TLC’s 1000-Lb Sisters, was hospitalized in Tennessee after being bitten by a camel Monday and then subsequently arrested for possession of psychedelic mushrooms because when cops responded to the petting zoo where she was bitten they walked by her car and smelled weed she had sitting out on the front seat, People.com reports.
Slaton, 36, and her male companion Brian Scott Lovvorn were both arrested and face charges of illegal possession of schedule I, illegal possession of schedule VI and two counts of child endangerment, since her sons Gage Deon, 4, and Glenn Allen, 2, were present, according to a statement from the Crockett County sheriff’s department. It’s not clear if Lovvorn and Slaton are dating because a separate report by InTouch says Slaton had in February announced she was dating a man named Kevin after having divorced Michael Halterman, father of Gage Deon and Glenn Allen.
“Michael and me are sharing custody,” Amy said on a February episode of 1000-Lb Sisters, filmed as she finalized the divorce. “I get the boys 70 percent of the time, Michael gets ’em 30.” Michael, 41, had requested 50/50 custody, which Amy shot down. “I was the chef, I was the cook, I was the nanny, I was everything in that house,” she insisted. “He was the video game player. I raise those kids. I made the bath waters. You don’t know how your fucking son likes his bath water, don’t play with me. There should be no reason why he needs extra days with the kids when he’s not even gonna take care of ’em. It’s not you gonna be having the kids, it’s gonna be [Michael’s] mother.”
