A new Yahoo News/YouGov national survey finds Vice President Kamala Harris leading convicted felon former President Trump 49 to 45 percent among likely voters, a jump in support for the veep after she led by just 1 point among registered voters in July immediately after entering the race.
Respondents also said Harris won the debate by a 56 to 26 percent margin – among partisans it was 94 percent of Dems saying Harris won to just 57 percent saying Trump won. Viewers also said the Vice President looked more “presidential” (51 percent to 35 percent), “coherent” (50 percent to 29 percent), “competent” (50 percent to 36 percent), “focused on policy” (48 percent to 34 percent) and “strong” (47 percent to 39 percent). Trump was seen as more “insulting” (53 percent to 28 percent) and “untruthful” (49 percent to 35 percent) – as well as more responsible than Harris for making the debate “embarrassing” (50 percent to 29 percent), “painful” (46 percent to 30 percent) and “infuriating” (44 percent to 33 percent) to watch ramble about stupid bullshit.
