Conserva-nerd magazine National Review Senior Editor Charles CW Cooke on Tuesday issued a chilling warning to his fans that “the ‘vibe shift’ against Harris and the evidence to support that ‘vibe shift’ are out of sync. I’m as suspicious of this supposed ‘collapse’ as I was of her initial hype. I agree that many Democrats seem to believe they’re losing; that doesn’t mean they are.”
The foreboding came a day after his dude Noah Rothman fretted similarly that the “panic” could actually end up redounding to the opposite effect, bedwetting that there may not be enough libs bedwetting, writing “The Democratic panic isn’t irrational or unfounded. Given the environmental advantages the GOP enjoys this year, a tie will go to the Republican challenger. But Democratic voters can take some heart in the fact that their party is reacting to a tied race as though it’s on the cusp of an epochal humiliation. If complacency is the enemy of winning campaigns, you at least cannot say the Democratic candidate or her supporters are content to rest on their laurels.”
