Speaking with House members Wednesday following the Supreme Court’s ruling ordering the Trump Regime to pay out $2 billion in outstanding USAID contracts, Trump minion Pete Maracco was a little squirrelly on whether or not the reich would actually obey the order, CNN’s Jen Hansler reports.
“It was a statement not on yes or no, but to say, ‘listen, these are my concerns with the ruling, and we’re going to review the ruling,’” House Foreign Affairs Chair Brian Mast said after the meeting, while ranking Dem Greg Meeks was less charitable, saying Maracco “never did answer the question, because the big question was, would they abide by the Supreme Court’s rule? That question was never answered. He didn’t respond to it at all. He’s got to go back and talk to his people.”
The ambiguity likely stemmed from the fact that it was more of a remand back to the lower courts rather than a concrete order, instructing a judge to “clarify what obligations the government must fulfill to ensure compliance with the temporary restraining order,” so it’s possible Maracco was wiggling on that. Then again the son of a bitch could’ve just said “we’ll abide by the final ruling whatever it is” and that would’ve been the end of the questions. If and when the time comes that the Trump Regime does defy the Supreme Court it’ll probably be a quieter thing, like they’ll say “Okay, we’ll pay it out” and then a week later the plaintiffs say they haven’t gotten shit.
