Nobody in this brief Fox News clip directly uttered “Trump is speaking to a greater truth” or “making a larger point” or whatever mild variation in the wording of that trope you want to use. Instead it went like “Apparently Trump reposted somebody’s post on Truth Social claiming that Biden had been executed in 2020 and was replaced by a robotic clone. Uh, clearly President Trump did not believe that – hahahaha!” from Fox News anchor John Roberts, who then read the exact same description from a New York Times report for some reason and added “I know Trump’s sense of humor. I’m sure he was just trolling…? Um, what do you think?” as he turned to the blonde expert on something.
The blonde, Kaylee McGhee White, then said “Well I would hope so… It gets to the heart of the scandal which is who in the world was president for the past four years if it wasn’t Joe Biden. Was it a clone? Was it a cable [guessing the fucking idiot meant ‘cabal’] of White House officials?”
So first off, why is this cyborg clone shit getting at the “heart of the scandal” when Trump already made it clear what it was? He literally wrote “Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will. It wasn’t his idea to Open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now. It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen,” 13 days ago, which is the more “realistic” version of this “scandal,” which hasn’t been actually even defined. Is the “Autopen” itself an AI or something? But either way on that, Trump already made the direct proposition of the vague “Autopen” trutherism. There’s no need for him to be making it more complicated and baroque with the demented QAnon fan fiction story.
Second off, how the fuck is this supposed to even make sense? Wouldn’t a cyborg clone of Joe Biden have been MORE functional and tenacious than an 82 year-old naturally born human who worked his ass off his entire life and then broke down physically and mentally in early 2023 or so?
You know how many right wing media outlets ignored this? All of them, except for Fox News, the New York Post, and the Gateway Pundit. There wasn’t enough articles to collect the comments and make a “MAGA Land” compendium out of this and believe it, there was a lot of desire to do so on this end. And the ones that did exist were all singing pretty much the same “larger point” tune.
Not saying that the McGhee d-bag was plagiarizing from some stupid Fox News commenters so much as this tired bullshit is the only fucking play the MAGA propaganda-industrial complex has when their Orange Allah says something too ridiculous and outlandish for them to be more creative with pretending he’s a normal, well-adjusted adult fully capable of leading the nation. Breitbart and the rest of the big right wing outlets at least had the discernment to avoid it entirely.
Props to McGhee though for finding a slightly different combination of words to say “points to a larger truth” with the “It gets to the heart of the scandal” line. Real half-dozen to the original six.
