A Portuguese-flagged boat for the Global Sumud Flotilla for Gaza was struck by a drone in the Mediterranean off of Tunisia early Tuesday, Reuters reports on a pretty fucking terrifying development. No one was injured in the attack, which Tunisian Coast Guard officials denied happened at all, with a spokesman saying reports of a drone attack “have no basis in truth.”
“Acts of aggression aimed at intimidating and derailing our mission will not deter us. Our peaceful mission to break the siege on Gaza and stand in solidarity with its people continues with determination and resolve,” the GSF said. It’s not clear if teen activist Greta Thunberg was on board the vessel that was hit, but she is reportedly on one of the relief boats traveling toward Gaza.
