“Governor Kathy Hochul’s job approval and favorability ratings are both up a little from last month, and her favorability rating, 45-42 percent (42-44 percent in August), is now the best it’s been since January 2024, according to a new Siena Poll of New York State registered voters released today.”

“A majority or plurality of voters believe Hochul works hard, demonstrates honesty, gets things done, provides decisive leadership, and cares about people. Four of the five are up significantly from June 2024 (this is first time ‘get things done’ was asked). Hochul (D) now leads Rep Elise Stefanik (R) 52-27 percent, in a gubernatorial matchup, up from 45-31 percent last month, and the first time Hochul has support from more than 50 percent of voters,” says Siena College’s polling press release.

While having that evil monster as governor would suck it also sucks that she hasn’t declared yet and this polling definitely does not get us any closer to a world where Elise Stefanik is simply out of politics and nobody has to see her 75+ minute daily Maybelline job face again. Just over the summer Stef went from “It’s not a question of if – it’s a question of when I announce, at the time and place of my choosing,” on June 29 to “I will make a final decision and announcement after this year’s November election which we are all focused on” less than a month later. Hochul’s lead just went from freaking 14 percent to 25 percent without her lifting a goddamned finger. Very concerning.
