Butting heads last year with then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche over the strategic value of bringing his bullshit “mortgage fraud” cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James, Fed Board of Governor member Lisa Cook, and California Senator Adam Schiff, Federal Housing Finance Authority Chief Bill “Fannie Man” Pulte also kinda looked into Blanche’s mortgage applications too just to see if the former defense lawyer for convicted felon President Trump might have committed the same not-really-an-actual-crime, the Wall Street Journal reports. The pic included at the top of the article shows the not-very-tall Pulte deplaning Air Force One while wearing a MAGA-style hat that instead says “GOAT!” as in “Greatest Of All Time.” There’s a little goat embossed onto the side.

Anyway the implication was obvious enough, that Pulte was stupid enough to gather the info necessary to publicly accuse the particularly unethical, corrupt, and vindictive then-second-highest-ranking law enforcement officer in the United States of the same “crime” for which only James was indicted – only for the case to be dismissed and no-billed multiple times on the retries – because of Blanche’s resistance to pursuing the extremely weak shit. A lawyer for Pulte said “any statement that Director Pulte examined or reviewed” Blanche’s mortgage files was false. So yeah he did it.

And found jack shit as any would-be “case” against Blanche would be even weaker than the one against James since Blanche owns one home and had co-signed another mortgage for his son’s house. The little caper came as the Justice Department itself was looking into Pulte and his team to see if they had violated any laws by accessing the mortgage records of Trump’s enemies.

Two reasons not to laugh at that: First is that everyone on Team Trump hates Bill Pulte. Scott Bessent nearly beat the shit out of him last year. Second is that Todd Blanche is perfectly happy to uphold standards of professionalism and codes of conduct when they serve his ends, like the policies against leaking he used as a pretext to defenestrate rank amateur “Eagle Ed” Martin from his DOJ post this year. Funny enough the leaks concerned the Schiff/James “mortgage fraud” fuckery.

Blanche’s problem is that Pulte is like another Natalie Harp, a complete worm of a subhuman being with no limits to self-abasement in service to the Orange Pharaoh’s greatness, so maybe don’t put a lettuce head under a GOAT hat for this specific leak. He’s got much more putrefying left in him.
