Your eyes deceive you not. That is a real Newsmax clip from Tuesday. It’s there because the thumbnail is funnier than the screenshot of a headline of a Fox News article from Monday, September 28th of this year, 2026 that was in that spot in an earlier draft of this piece.
“USBP is closely engaged with its international partners to monitor their movement and additional developments,” the state told state media (Fox, not Newsmax in this particular quote). “USBP reminds migrants that under the leadership of President Trump and Homeland Secretary Mullin, the border has remained closed and secured for the last 16 months.” Fox News then fills in the most important details to the audience with “The caravan, numbering in the hundreds as of Monday, is predominantly made up of Hondurans, Guatemalans, Salvadorans, Ecuadoreans and Haitians.”
That fucking Newsmax “ELECTION SEASON CARAVAN” though. It’s right there. You don’t even need to click play and watch the video, they said it right up front, KNOWING full well that few if any of their goldfish-brained actual fans are going to stop and think “Hey, wait a second… Why DO these caravans full of brown people suddenly start coming toward the border every ‘election season’?”
Missing from the coverage however was the alleged nefarious actor who was supposed to have funded the 2018 caravan but, don’t worry, Breitbart manages to find a way to bring him into the mix.

Huh. Billionaire clan pays for kid to go to medical school and become a doctor. Guess the message is that the Soros-funded El-Sayed took the spot of a white kid whose parents had the cash to send him to med school but his/her grades were slightly lower, therefore Soros is replacing white people like he was trying to do with the 2018 caravan that Trump claimed Soros was funding.

Now the Clintons, the Obamas, Soros, and CNN make for obvious enough targets on any pro-Trump terrorist’s fantasy execution list. Go deeper down the roster and there’s another set of names that one need be more than just a casual MAGA Cinematic Universe fan to want dead (provided you’re competent enough to build a working bomb and not the inoperable duds the van-dwelling moron sent): Obama’s Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan, two men who your average Trump voter only learned to hate because of their involvement in the investigations into the Orange God Emperor’s 2016 campaign. The now-late Robert Mueller’s investigation into the fat bastard’s treasonous connections to the Putin Regime were the background hum to the 2018 midterms and the bomber, Cesar Sayoc – now about a quarter of the way through his 20 year bid – probably would have sent Big Bob a package too if given the opportunity.
Wouldn’t have been the only Trump lover coming for his head as the biggest Trump lover of them all, Donald J Trump, that month whined “We have to get it over with. It’s really bad for the country. It’s really unfair for our midterms.” A week later Paul Manafort pleaded guilty and entered into a (later broken) cooperation deal with Mueller’s team, less than 60 days before election day.
But for all the fucking freakouts and tantrums, the Russia investigation was useful to Trump in that his dipshit fans saw it as an attack on them, the “Deep State” and the “Establishment” trying to undo “their” victory in 2016 and they were going to turn out big to repudiate Mueller.
This will almost certainly never be confirmed by any reporting, but it’s even more certain that a hope to channel that same energy, that same collective sense of grievance and victimhood shared by MAGAmerica during that halcyon autumn, was why the Senate GOP penciled in Mueller’s more-than-spiritual successor Jack Smith in for the last major hearing of the year before election day. You can almost smell the urine in Mike Lee’s pants as he yelped with joy at the idea however many months ago they were working, that this was going to be the BIG SHOWDOWN and they’d fucking CRUSH IT and motivate MAGA turnout to avenge Smith’s transgressions against their Lord and Savior.
Well you know how it went. However even without that absolutely batshit fail of a Matlock moment attempt by Eric Schmitt, what would that have done to move the ball down the field? Untold of Trump voters have evidently stopped giving a shit and no longer think Trump’s enemies are theirs.

Now you might be asking “Why would Trump and his cult want it to be 2018 again?!? They lost 39 seats in the House that year!” and those last words are the actual answer. Gerrymandering and geographic shifts in the 2021 redistricting plus more gerrymandering by Trump made the House map FAR more inelastic than it was eight years ago. IF November’s turnout is exactly the same as 2018’s but with 2026’s map then the chances of a GOP hold would be something taken seriously rather than Mike Johnson lies further condemning himself to eternal torment in Hell.
The Senate? Republicans ADDED two seats to their majority in 2018. If this year’s political conditions were like 2018 then they could’ve seriously done it again in Georgia and Michigan.
