Did you know the Speaker can enforce Single Subject Legislation on day one?
We have the opportunity to end the 3,000 page bills that you have to pass to know what’s in it.

First, no Speaker will enforce the Single Subject Legislation rule of the House. It would lead to chaos as individual issue bills clog up committees and require hundreds of floor votes. But the true genius (?) of Lauren Boebert, the alleged former prostitute who was a favorite of Senator Ted Cruz (R-Quintana Roo) and who enjoyed easy access to abortions, is that she screws up her job.
See, the “have to pass it to know what’s in it” is Boebert trying to throw shade at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who said something similar during the passage of the Affordable Care Act. But when she said it, Pelosi was noting the ACA would have to go through Congressional reconciliation–the process by which a bill the House passes is matched with its partner bill passing the Senate to produce a bill that would pass both chambers. When Boebert cites it, she’s demonstrating her ignorance about how bills become law that any high school graduate should know.
