A top GOP donor who was a major contributor to Republican Florida Governor and human bop bag Ron DeSantis said he will not contribute any additional money to him because of his extremist social policies, the Financial Times reports.
Thomas Peterffy donated more than $7.5 million to GOP candidates during the 2022 election cycle, but has “put myself on hold” with any further donations earmarked for DeSantis. When asked why, he responded, “Because of his stance on abortion and book banning . . . myself, and a bunch of friends, are holding our powder dry,” adding, “the Republicans have a very big problem” because they’re relying on extremist social positions to attract voters in the primary.
Peterffy, a resident of West Palm Beach, had donated more than $200,000 to DeSantis’s campaign for governor in 2018. Until recently, he was the richest man in Florida with a net worth of $26 billion, acquired largely from founding Interactive Brokers, a financial platform. He lost the title when another obscene rich person moved to Florida.
