Yeah, that’s a headline alright. We’ll just start from the beginning on this one: On January 7th, 2021, the day after the Capitol riot and when fat then-President Trump had already (sort of) given up the ghost, total MAGA dipshit now-former Coffee County, Georgia Clerk Misty Hampton opened the doors of her office to right wing conspiracy theorists connected to Sidney “Kraken” Powell – among them businessman Scott Hall and fake Trump 2020 Georgia elector Cathy Latham – and let them take whatever they wanted from the server room, which you will not be shocked to learn was Dominion Voting software and likely voter data. On January 19th, 2021, just a day before Biden’s inauguration, more showed up, including none other than “Cyber Ninjas” asshole Doug Logan.
The next month Hampton resigned after coming under investigation for falsifying her timesheets. A few months later in May 2021, the new Coffee County clerk James Barnes found a business card from Logan underneath his keyboard and promptly emailed the Secretary of State’s office. By then the “Cyber Ninjas” were nationally known, particularly among elections administrators, for the ultimately failed “audit” of the 2020 election in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Secretary of State’s office opened an investigation, the first reports of which began surfacing in August 2022.
While all this was going on, Hampton had already found a contract position as election director in Treutlen County, 60 miles north. It didn’t go so well there either, WXIA reported this week.
Treutlen County Manager TJ Hudson is currently in a hired position, but in early 2021 he was an elected probate judge and the county’s director of elections. Since his resignation to take the manager job triggered a special election with no one to oversee it, he needed a temp to fill in for him. “At that particular time, we did not have a clue what had been going on [in Coffee County],” Hudson told WXIA. Correctly since, as mentioned, none of this Cyber Ninjas/Kraken shit with Hampton had surfaced until August 2022. “Absolutely it would have mattered [if he had known].”
Hudson wavered when pressed specifically about the breach, saying “Well, we needed somebody to run elections and… we didn’t have anybody.” There was also the fact that she was fired from Coffee County for falsifying her timesheets and stealing from taxpayers, which Hudson could have found out about at the time if he’d just picked up the fucking phone but WXIA didn’t ask about that part.
For his part, Hudson, a Republican who finished last in the 2022 Secretary of State GOP primary, doesn’t appear to be on board with the Dominion fantasies. He still doesn’t like them, but it seems to be a different, simpler reason: That their machines don’t print out a paper receipt for voters. A cursory scroll of his campaign’s Facebook and Twitter pages did not reveal any of the usual MAGA bullshit aside from one or two anodyne references to “election integrity.”
Which is probably why he kept quiet and didn’t scream “Deep State gestapo!” in April when investigators from “RINO” Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office came to Treutlen and seized their elections office server because Misty Hampton had been given access to it during her brief tenure in spring 2021, something WXIA didn’t catch wind of until this week. Hampton did not comment for their story and her January 2021 fuckery remains under investigation by the Secretary of State’s office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Fulton County DA Fani Willis.
