Hunter Biden’s plea case on two federal misdemeanor tax violations and one felony charge of lying on a gun permit application has been to Trump appointed Delaware US Circuit Judge Maryellen Noreika, Politico’s Kyle Cheney reports. Noreika now has the power to override US Attorney David Weiss’s sentencing recommendations in the plea deal and toss Hunter in prison but that’s a stretch given the chilling effect it would have on other defendants who would be amenable to pleas.
Then there’s that Noreika is also presiding over Hunter’s countersuit against blind idiot computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac and it’s probably wouldn’t be a good look for her to be rocking the boat in that civil case by jailing one of the litigants when she doesn’t actually have to.
