BREAKING NOOSE: Former Vice President Mike Pence secretly roped his way into Ukraine to talk policy with President Volodymyr Zelensky and tour some of the battlefield, NBC News reports.
“I believe America’s the leader of the free world. But coming here just as a private citizen – being able to really see firsthand the heroism of the Ukrainian soldiers holding the line in those woods, see the heroism of the people here in Irpin that held back the Russian army, to see families whose homes were literally shelled in the midst of an unconscionable and unprovoked Russian invasion – just steels my resolve to do my part, to continue to call for strong American support for our Ukrainian friends and allies,” Pence told NBC as he toured the town once occupied by Putin’s armies.
We don’t like Pence and regularly mock him for almost getting hanged as well as his hyper-religious weirdness. That doesn’t mean we can’t have some respect and appreciation toward him for doing the bare minimum to preserve democracy and for traveling to a war zone while his rivals – especially Trump – openly wish to leave the country for dead at the hands of an evil tyrant.
