More than 61,000 new coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday in the United States, shattering the previous daily record that was set just five days ago, according to virus tracker worldometers.
Texas topped 10,000 new cases, with Florida falling just short of that mark today. California was third with 8,500 cases.
A more ominous sign are reports that many hospitals in Florida have hit capacity in their ICU beds; 56 Florida hospitals have 0% capacity. Five Texas regions have also hit their limits, according to reports.
