Anticipating a major surge in outsider in the comings weeks, leaders of a small town near the border have declared an invasion and closed themselves off from all outsiders, NBC News reports.
Pomfret, Vermont, which sits near the border with New Hampshire, has closed two roads to non-residents until October 15th in anticipation of fall foliage tourists and douchey TikTokers who want an authentic autumn backdrop for their video clips. “Foliage season traffic in this area has steadily increased during the last several years, causing significant safety, environmental, aesthetic, and quality of life issues,” said the Pomfret Select Board’s announcement on the closures.
