A Pennsylvania state senator who has advocated for the legislature to throw out the votes of the state’s residents and replace them with ones that would appoint Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus while he was in a White House meeting with Trump, the Associated Press reports.

Republican state Sen. Doug Mastriano was meeting with Trump and his staff Wednesday to outline potential plans to undermine the state’s election when a COVID screening test he took before the meeting came back positive.  Upon learning of the result, he left the meeting with Trump.

Mastriano had brought his son and his son’s friend to the Oval Office.  All three tested positive. 

Mastriano attended the event Wednesday in Gettysburg featuring two remaining member of Trump’s Elite Special Force Team, Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, who were outlining their unproven allegations of fraud in the election.  Giuliani, Ellis and others had direct contact with people who tested positive less than a week before.

To travel to Washington, Mastriano and the two others drove a van to the White House with an unspecified number of others.  It is unknown whether they wore masks in the van or in the White House meeting, but video of the Gettysburg event shows few wearing facemasks.

Mastriano has claimed that there is “mounting evidence” of fraud in the presidential election, however no evidence has been presented and the courts have repeated tossed out cases from Trump’s ESFT.
