President-elect Biden continues to fill out his Cabinet positions, selecting former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack to lead the Department of Agriculture, Politico reports.
Vilsack served in the same role as the Secretary of Agriculture for all eight years of the Obama Administration. He was the governor of Iowa from 1999 to 2007.
Biden’s pick of Vilsack is key because Vilsack is expected to lead the effort to expand climate change policy to include incentives to farmers to implement carbon capture programs.
