Death of Capitol police officer now confirmed

Following an earlier premature report about the death of a Capitol Police officer, the department confirmed one of its officers succumbed to wounds sustained during yesterday’s insurrectionist attack at the Capitol, NBC News reports.

Officer Brian Sicknick died after he collapsed at the Division headquarters office after he clashed with the mob entering the Capitol. Sicknick had joined the force in 2008.
