Nearly two months have passed since President Trump tweeted that the United States would designate Antifa as a terrorist organization – and yet, as a cursory investigation by National Zero has revealed, there is no evidence that Antifa is currently labeled a terrorist group under any statute laws of the United States.
The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization.

The US State Department’s web page listing Designated Terrorist Organizations does not include Antifa – nor any other domestic group for that matter. No results were found on a search of the FBI website, save for one passing remark in the transcript of a speech by Director Christopher Wray . The Department of Justice apparently does not have any sort of list of domestic groups analogous to the one the State Department has.
It is unclear why President Trump would have made such a statement and not followed through on it. The tweet itself has no declarative legal effect – and even if it did, it appears that there is no official mechanism for a domestic group to be designated as a terrorist group.
