The White House has announced that Dr. Anthony Fauci will not be part of the coronavirus briefing scheduled for this evening; Fauci told CNN’s Jim Acosta he was not invited to attend.
It is in doubt whether other medical professionals from the administration will be part of the briefing
This will be Trump’s first appearance at a coronavirus briefing in more than 60 days. White House staff have told media to think of this as more of a “media briefing” rather than a task force briefing; this counters what they have described the briefing as before.
Trump has told advisors that his poll numbers were higher when he was conducting the briefings. Kellyanne Conway has said she hoped Trump would do more briefings because it would increase his public profile.
