Fox News host (and paperback romance novel in a textbook world) Tucker Carlson explored the lowering birth rate of white people in the United States with a conservative military historian on his show tonight because… Fox News.

“Do you find it interesting that they [whoever “they” are] are *so* offended by fertility, and nature, and the idea that people reproduce, and that’s okay” Carlson laments without citation.  “You know, that we, men and women, come together and create new life.  Like, the whole thing is repulsive to them.  Why is that?”

His guest, Victor Davis Hanson, a conservative ne’er-do-well and military historian with the conservative Hoover Institution–because who better to talk about the psychology of sexuality than a military historian, right?–blames feminism before launching into a defense of the racist “replacement theory,” saying that “we’re not replacing ourselves [apparently meaning white people].”  Hanson then goes on to say that it’s a result of “prolonged adolescence” that people aren’t getting married and having children until their mid-30s, as opposed to decades ago when people got married in their mid-20s.

Hanson then said that 31-year-old second-term Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an example of this.  “AOC is a good example of a person suffering from prolonged adolescence.  She’s said she doesn’t want to have children because of climate change”–a statement that in and of itself demonstrates that the Congresswoman has actually thought about her future.

“Yeah.  It’s sad,” Tucker continues with his faux lamenting as he demeans the Congresswoman.  “Even for Sandy Cortez.  She’s missing the best part.”

Did we mention she’s a Congresswoman?

Neither Hanson nor Carlson address the economic instability of people entering the workforce, or the ever-increasing cost of housing.  It’s because a military historian says people suffer from prolonged adolescence.  Mmmmmmm’kay.
