The lawsuit failed Republican Alaskan governor, failed vice presidential candidate, failed reality television show, failed mother and failed wife Sarah Palin brought against the New York Times will see the first day of trial Monday as jury selection begins, Politico reports.
Palin sued the landmark newspaper after an article linked a PAC Palin was associated with to the shooting of Democratic Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. The Times had stated that Palin’s PAC’s website had featured images of crosshairs over photos of the Democratic politicians from each battleground race. In fact, the image did not feature the photos of the individuals. The Times corrected the error within one day and included an editorial note explaining the change.
Palin, however, stated that the brief time the story ran online damaged her reputation.
