The student newspaper of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the main campus of the UNC system, has reported that four dormitories have been struck with outbreaks of the coronavirus, less than one week after the campus started in-person classes.
The Daily Tar Heel reported that Hinton James Residence Hall, a ten story building that typically houses 950 students, is the latest location of a cluster of cases.

Ehringhaus Community, a six-story dorm, and Granville Towers, a privately-owned complex of three towers typically housing first-year students, also had outbreaks. The location of the final cluster was the Sigma Nu fraternity house.
UNC defines a “cluster” as five or more students who have tested positive. Those tested positive are being isolated, but it is not clear what measures are being taken with those who have lived with or otherwise been in contact with those who tested positive.
