A housekeeper at Michael Bloomberg’s Colorado ranch was kidnapped at gunpoint by a man who made her drive to Wyoming, where the police were able to free the woman and apprehend the kidnapper, Reuters reports.
Joseph Beecher, 48, rammed his pickup truck through a fence on the property and made his way into the main building on the property, where he met the supervising housekeeper on the second floor of the residence. According to court documents, Beecher initially pointed a rifle in the housekeeper’s face and asked the woman about Bloomberg’s daughters, whom he referred to by name.
Beecher then made the woman drive him to Cheyenne, Wyoming. During the trip, they made frequent stops, but the woman could not escape. When they arrived in Cheyenne, they checked into a motel room and Beecher made the woman sleep on top of him with her head on his chest. Police were able to track them to the motel, where they made an early morning raid to rescue the woman.
