Members of the Coeur d’Alene Police have been receiving death threats after the highly-publicized story of them arresting 31 members of the white nationalist Patriot Front who were attempting to disrupt an LGBTQ Pride gathering, NBC News reported.
Chief Lee White told media that the police had logged 149 calls to the department regarding the arrest of the fascists, who were intercepted as they traveled in a U-Haul with most members in the back like cargo. A concerned citizen saw the group of men dressed alike pile into the back of the van and called police, who intercepted the van before it got to the festival. White said half of the calls have been supportive of the officers’ actions.
“And the other 50 percent — who are completely anonymous, who want nothing more than to scream and yell at us and use some really choice words — offer death threats against myself and other members of the police department merely for doing our jobs,” White said. “Those people obviously remain anonymous.”
