Long story short, Habba behaved less than ethically toward the waitress, Nancy Bianco, by befriending the then-21 year-old before steering her into the NDA. And Habba kind of broke the law because NDAs are illegal in the state of New Jersey. And then there’s another ethics complaint over Habba’s office bringing an indictment against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. Probably not good for her.

But then again not having a license to practice law might not be that big of an issue when it comes to getting her confirmed in a Republican majority Senate full of ballusucking Trump cultists.

Cops in England say they aren’t pressing charges in a medieval combat reenactment that got a little too enacted when a knight cosplayer’s sword kind of got into the other guy’s visor and yeah, it’s probably bad as he’s in “critical condition” per a press release from the Sussex Police Constabulary.

“A man was unfortunately injured during the combat re-enactment. We are treating the incident as an accident and we are offering support to his family. His opponent, a 36-year-old man also from Horsham, and the organisers are helping us with our enquiries. We know the re-enactment had drawn a large crowd and understand that anyone who witnessed the scene could have found this distressing. We are appealing to anyone who has photographs or videos of the interaction that led to the injury to contact us so we can gain a clear understanding of what happened,” said Detective Inspector Barry Chandler, evidently a fan of medieval reenactments who wants more footage.

A hospital/clinic in southwest Nebraska announced its closure on Thursday specifically citing the Big Beautiful Bill, which just passed at this very moment as the reason for it, KLKN reports.

“Unfortunately, the current financial environment, driven by anticipated federal budget cuts to Medicaid, has made it impossible for us to continue operating all of our services, many of which have faced significant financial challenges for years,” said Troy Bruntz, CEO of the Community Hospital in Curtis, Nebraska, a town of about 900, and a 39 minute drive from the second closest hospital in Gothenburg, Nebraska, on I-91. God knows how many people in other towns further south or west of Curtis rely on that hospital. Everyone knows who most of them voted for, however.

Arriving from the direction of the constellation Sagittarius, the interstellar comet has been officially named 3I/ATLAS. It is currently located about 420 million miles (670 million kilometers) away. Since that first report, observations from before the discovery have been gathered from the archives of three different ATLAS telescopes around the world and the Zwicky Transient Facility at the Palomar Observatory in San Diego County, California. These ‘pre-discovery’ observations extend back to June 14. Numerous telescopes have reported additional observations since the object was first reported,” said NASA in a Wednesday press release.

“The comet poses no threat to Earth and will remain at a distance of at least 1.6 astronomical units (about 150 million miles or 240 million km). It is currently about 4.5 au (about 416 million miles or 670 million km) from the Sun. 3I/ATLAS will reach its closest approach to the Sun around Oct. 30, at a distance of 1.4 au (about 130 million miles or 210 million km) — just inside the orbit of Mars. The interstellar comet’s size and physical properties are being investigated by astronomers around the world. 3I/ATLAS should remain visible to ground-based telescopes through September, after which it will pass too close to the Sun to observe. It is expected to reappear on the other side of the Sun by early December, allowing for renewed observations,” the press release continued.

Gateway Church, the Texas megachurch chain founded by Trump-allied child molestor Pastor Robert Morris, announced this week they’re cutting Saturday services at all congregations except for the main campus in Southlake, WFAA reports on another sign of a flock in serious decline.

“As we continue to strengthen our relationship with the Gateway Church family and community, we’re making a shift at several of our DFW campuses by hosting our church services on Sundays only,” a church spokesperson said. “This adjustment will allow us to minister to and love our congregation well while prioritizing the needs of our individual campus communities. Throughout all our locations, our commitment to loving God and loving people remains unchanged.”

Not helping things are that Morris, fired by the board of elders, is suing them for $1 million in back pay as well as intellectual property rights to his books, sermons, and social media accounts.

This comes at a time when the economics of oil and gas production are already challenged due to the dynamics of global oil supply and demand,” says a support service firm exec. “There is constant noise coming from the administration saying $50-per-barrel oil is the target. Everyone should understand that $50 is not a sustainable price for oil. It needs to be mid $60s,” says another exec, all of them almost certainly Trump donors.

A tribunal stood up by Bangladesh’s interim government on Wednesday sentenced, in absentia, fugitive former dictator Sheikh Hasina to six months in the clink after she was found in contempt of court for claiming she had a “license to kill” at least 227 protestors in last year’s uprising that ended with her fleeing to India, the AP reports, noting this is the tip of the iceberg against her.

The “contempt” charge seems based on something a little closer to the colloquial sense of the word rather than any motions by her defense that pissed off the judges – in fact she hasn’t even sent a lawyer to the trial, likely to avoid being seen as legitimizing it – but from leaked of a supposed phone call between Hasina in which she told a leader of the student wing of her Awami League political party that “There are 227 cases against me, so I now have a license to kill 227 people.”

Hasina’s larger trial for crimes against humanity remains ongoing. The tribunal judges ordered Hasina and her former home minister to respond by May 15 and got no answer. When they failed to do so, the tribunal summoned them May 25 to appear in court June 16 and nothing. Later the tribunal published notices in newspapers asking Hasina to appear. Guess how that went.

Also guess which old hag in 2009 signed the law establishing this very tribunal system, originally created to investigate and try crimes involving Bangladesh’s 1971 war of independence from Pakistan, specifically members of the opposition Jamaat-e-Islami party she saw as collaborators.

The deputy was in the right lane, traveling at approximately 60 mph, when the vehicle continued to close the distance. The deputy tried to accelerate, but that did not prevent the accident. The vehicle rear-ended him at a high rate of speed,” says the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office in a June 26 Facebook post about one of their deputies almost getting killed.

“The driver of the striking vehicle was Kristin Belongia, a 41-year-old female from the Town of Geneva, who said she was eating Taco Bell while driving and wasn’t paying attention. She showed no obvious signs of impairment and denied using alcohol or drugs. The deputy reported minor injuries but was hospitalized. The Wisconsin State Patrol investigated the crash.”
