In a voluntary display of overt American gluttony and overconsumption, professional eater Joey Chestnut shoved 75 hot dogs and buns into his pie hole in 10 minutes to win the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest today, according to ESPN.
Chestnut’s binge eating broke his record of 74 hot dogs, which he set in 2018. The second place “winner,” Darron Breeden finished with a excessive but more reasonable 42 hot dogs.
On the women’s side, Miki Sudo also set a new record, downing 48.5 hot dogs in ten minutes. (It’s unclear what constitutes a half a hot dog.)
Chestnut won the Mustard Yellow Belt for the 13th time in 14th years. Chestnut and Sudo also took home a $10,000 check and an assumed case of indigestion.
