Devin Nunes, the republican Congress who gained national notoriety for staunchly (and perhaps criminally) defending President Trump during the impeachment; pushing the Biden Ukrainegate debacle; and suing a fictional cow’s Twitter account, has secured $1 million in PPP loans for a winery he partially owns.
The California republican’s Phase 2 Cellars, located in San Luis Obispo, has a 1.3 million gallon production capacity, roughly 600,000 cases.
Nunes, who ran for Congress stating that he was a farmer from Tulare County in southcentral California, doesn’t actually own any farmland in the states, despite frequently appearing on Fox “News” in front of an agricultural scene like a barn. His family dairy farm moved operations to Iowa in 2007.
