One minute and five seconds.
That’s how much time Jason Chaffetz, the substitute host on Hannity tonight, spent on President Trump’s commutation of Roger Stone’s sentence.
Most of the A-block of the show was dedicated to Trump’s claim that Joe Biden supposed plagiarism of a Trump… something.
You’d think that the show that harangued about how Stone was the victim of the system because of… oh… a jury foreman, or a “process crime,” or a partisan investigation, or for cryin’ out loud there was no collusion!!!— you’d think that show would lead with the Great Exculpation of Roger Stone.
But when Chaffetz invited guest Hogan Gidley to comment on Stone’s sentence commutation, Gidley said “It’s a good move by the President, of course,” and proceeded to claim a Deep State conspiracy about the so-called “Russian hoax.”
Gidley never mentioned Stone’s name. But he did mention Lisa Page and Peter Strzok. Chaffetz went to say, “If Hillary Clinton had won, the likes of Comey and McCabe and Strzok, they would’ve been running the country.”
They can’t even say Stone’s name. They can’t even state the crimes he was convicted of. Why not? Because if they mentioned the crimes, they would have to acknowledge that Stone was convicted of crimes relating to protecting Trump from being held responsible for his crimes.
Instead, they deflect, as they always have.
