For the first time since March 11th, New York City had no one die of COVID yesterday
Only 17 people are reported to have died of COVID in New York State yesterday, a stark difference from the peak of the pandemic when the state had nearly 1,000 people die in one day.
The state has effectively “flattened the curve” in fighting the coronavirus, recording a running 7-day average of new cases under 1,000 for one month.
As New York and other northeastern states have seen reductions in the number of new cases and deaths, while most Southern states and California are experiencing a spike in new cases.
