In Thursday’s interview with President Trump, Sean Hannity asked about the cancellation of the portion of the RNC convention that was to be held in Jacksonville, Florida.
TRUMP: Well, it’s really the China virus. Call it COVID. Call it any one of a lot of different names. But, uh, y’know, we’re setting an example. We don’t want to have people so close together. We’ve has such enthusiasm. Everybody wanted to have there, y’know we went to North Carolina. We wanted to do it there. It was all set. We were gonna build a beautiful facility and it got hit hard and the governor then really… he, ah… coulda treated us better. Democrat governor, but we are actually opening up there and then we’ll, we’ll, ah, make our ways. It won’t be your typical convention, I can say that, but it’s gonna be very safe, and I thought I had an obligation not to have large numbers, massive numbers of people crowded into a room.
Hannity then asks about plans that he heard that he “thought were pretty spectacular.”
TRUMP: Well, we have some ideas but it will have to be different than your typical convention. We just have great enthusiasm in the Party.I don’t think we’ve had it—even moreso than 2016 and you see what’s going on with the polls since I, since, it’s funny, I made a speech at Mount Rushmore and since that time it’s been really something that’s, I mean, before that really you have all of these fake, these suppression polls just like 2016 when they put out these phony polls, ah, the media, but I’ll tell you what it’s, ah, the, the enthusiasm this party has and that they have, ah, their president because we keeping our cities safe.
