In a Friday update, Princeton Election Consortium has put 279 Electoral College votes into the “Safe Democratic” category, forecasting presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden winning the White House in November.
Adding in both “Likely” and “Leaning” Democratic states, PEC has Biden taking 335 Electoral College votes, with 72 state votes–from Texas, Georgia and Ohio–listed as “toss up” states.
PEC also give republicans only a 7% probability of maintaining a majority in the Senate, calculating Democrats controlling 52 Senate seats as the greatest probability.
