The United States once again surpassed 54,000 new recorded cases Wednesday, with 1,386 fatalities due to the coronavirus, according to data from worldometers.info.
This marks a continuing increasing trend in the number of cases and fatalities in the United States for the coronavirus. The US has had a 7-day running average of more than 1,000 fatalities since July 29th.
California, Florida and Texas led the US in new cases, with Texas and Florida exceeding 200 daily fatalities. California, Arizona and Georgia all topped 100 fatalities Wednesday. Georgia, which just reopened schools, had its first time for two consecutive days with more than 100 fatalities.
Around the world, Brazil and India exceeded 55,000 daily reported coronavirus cases Wednesday. Colombia also exceeded 12,000 cases for the second consecutive day.
