Simon & Schuster will publish a picture-book biography of Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris, due to hit the market August 25th.
Written at a preschool to third grade reading level, the book will detail Harris’s life journey from the Oakland-born daughter of immigrants from different continents to California’s Attorney General to the US Senate, ultimately becoming the first woman of color on a major party presidential ticket.
“From fighting for the use of a soccer field in middle school to fighting for the people of her home state in Congress, Senator Harris used her voice to speak up for what she believed in and for those who were otherwise unheard,” the book blurb says.
Harris will take center stage at Wednesday’s Democratic National Convention session where she will accept the nomination as her Party’s Vice Presidential candidate.
