Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas asked people to compare the records of Joe Biden and Donald Trump, but in doing so, neglected to mention a number of things in promoting Trump as tough on foreign governments.
One key item was the assassination of Qasem Soleimani, the Irani general killed in an American missile strike in January 2020. Cotton touted Trump for conducting the assassination, done while Soleimani was on Iraqi soil on a diplomatic mission in plain view.
He noted that Biden was against the mission to eliminate Osama bin Laden in 2011, failing to note that the bin Laden mission involved putting troops on the ground in Pakistan–after they had to fly hundreds of miles at dangerously low altitudes–to conduct the mission based on intelligence that wasn’t 100% certain of bin Laden’s identity.
So, a missile strike in American-controlled skies to strike a man with a public travel schedule versus a covert men-on-the-ground mission in hostile airspace based on limited intelligence.
Cotton also said Trump has been tough on China, without mentioning that Trump’s daughter Ivanka has secured numerous valuable Chinese trademarks for her own company while she’s worked in the White House.
