The United States logged 35,000 new coronavirus and more than 1,100 fatalities Thursday, marking the second consecutive day of the nation eclipsing those marks, according to worldometers.info.
Florida topped 200 fatalities on Thursday, with Texas following with 165. Texas, California and Florida led the nation in new cases reporting. Only four states–Alaska, Vermont, Wyoming and Maine–did not record a fatality.
On the global stage, India and Brazil topped the United States in the number of new daily cases. The second wave appears to be hitting Western Europe as France and Spain saw continuing spikes in cases.
