The entire Southern Methodist University student section was ejected from the SMU football game against Memphis for refusing to adhere to social distancing and masking regulations, CBS Sports reports.
After a similar incident during last week’s game, SMU athletic director Rick Hart issued mandatory requirements for students attending the game.
“The majority of fans in the stadium behaved responsibly and were socially-distanced and masked,” Hart wrote in a statement on Tuesday. “That said, we will be working to adjust the behavior of a small subsection of fans who did not follow our pledge to protect, which was sent to all ticketholders.”
