- Where’s Melania? Donnie’s birthday was four days ago, and she didn’t even tweet him a birthday greeting.
- To summarize the GOP’s view of the January 6th domestic terrorist attack developed in the last five months: Agents from the FBI, CIA and other federal agencies, directed by the Barr-led Trump Administration Department of Justice, posed as antifa and BLM protesters (in an overwhelming white crowd) and successfully infiltrated the Oath Keepers, the III Percenters, the Proud Boys and other MAGA groups to organize peaceful tours of the Capitol (when the Capitol was closed to the public) and were escorted into the Capitol by officers (who were assaulted and attacked) where the federal agents cum antifa cum tourists then inspired otherwise peaceful Trump supporters to spontaneously vandalize and ransack the building coincidentally on the day that the Electoral College votes were being certified, even though these Trump supporters were told by Trump to march to the Capitol and many of them had weapons and planned attacks beforehand, therefore the Trump supporters should not be held responsible for their actions, which they undertook to undermine and disgrace Donald Trump, who was in charge of the government and who they believed was reelected.
- So, again: if Republicans are so certain the January 6th attack was planned by rogue federal agents or BLM or antifa, why are they blocking an independent commission?
- I miss simple conspiracy theories, like there was a second shooter on the Grassy Knoll and that the government is hiding aliens who crashed at Roswell. At least those are understandable and potentially feasible.
- Carter Page’s FISA warrant was court-approved. The FISA warrant that caught Mike Flynn was court-approved. The subpoenas that captured Adam Schiff’s and Eric Swalwell’s phone records? Not court-approved and ordered by a Trump appointee. But Obama ran the Deep State, right?
- Why is Tucker Carlson upset about his claim that FBI agents were involved in the January 6th events at the Capitol? Can’t FBI agents be “tourists” too, like he claimed they were last month?
- Joe Biden’s performance in England and during the G-7 reminded the world what an American President is. And Putin saw that.
- Anna Kendrick is a goddamn national treasure.
- Isn’t it funny how Putin talking points about the January 6th domestic terrorist attacks are the same ones touted by the GOP and Fox News?
- Favorite garden grown vegetables: Tomatoes are the obvious winner. They’re the most popular for a reason. But cucumbers are a close second. And then lettuce and spinach. We grow squash, because I think it’s a law for a home garden. Growing your own gives you many more choices of varieties. If you can’t, find a local farm stand and patronize them.
- The Founders gave states other powers not specified for the federal government in the Constitution not because they distrusted a centralized government, but because they never imagined (1) instantaneous communication over thousands of miles and (2) states could or would implement policies that would be intentionally detrimental to other states. The GOP, on the federal and state levels, are enacting policies–like voter suppression laws–not to help their citizens, but to consolidate national power. Republicans are not acting in the good faith the Founders hoped they would have.
- To Senator Manchin: given the above statement, support filibuster reform. Republicans are NEVER EVER going to work for the betterment of the nation or of Americans. They’re only interested in maintaining their power, and you’re letting them have it.
- Donald Trump tweeted exactly one year ago: “Do you get the impression that the Supreme Court doesn’t like me?” SCOTUS upheld the ACA Trump attempted to dismantle. Two of the justices he put on the Court voted to uphold it. Seems like nobody likes Trump.
- Enjoy the inaugural Juneteenth National Independence Day tomorrow!
