Three more college football bowl games were canceled due to outbreaks of coronavirus among the competing teams, bringing to four the number of bowl games canceled with a fifth one able to find a substitute team, CNN reports.
Scheduled for Monday, the Military Bowl featuring Boston College and East Carolina University, will not be played Monday in Annapolis. Friday’s Sun Bowl featuring the Miami Hurricanes and the Washington State Cougars in El Paso has also been canceled. And the inaugural Fenway Bowl at Fenway Park in Boston, which was to feature University of Virginia and Southern Methodist University on Wednesday, was also scrapped.
Boston College, the University of Virginia and Miami all reported coronavirus positivity rates that excluded to many players to field a competitive team.
