Super patriotic American retailer Walmart told Chinese financial analysts that their removal of Xinjiang-sourced products from subsidiary brand Sam’s Club’s app was a “misunderstanding” after a PRC government agency raged at their “stupidity and short-sightedness” for the move, Reuters reports. “This matter is a misunderstanding,” said a Sam’s Club rep, identified only as Zhang, on audio of a conference call leaked to Reuters. “We didn’t defend ourselves, because, there is no reason to be afraid of things we haven’t done.” The chickenshit walk back comes as the ChiComs face increasing international pressure over what’s been described as a “cultural genocide” being waged against the Uighur Muslim minority in the northwestern Chinese province. Millions of Uighur people have been interned in camps, women sterilized, and families broken up as the Xi regime seeks to crush the ethnically Turkic minority over the vague threat of “terrorism”.
