Republican former Michigan State Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield, a MAGA punk who while still in office reportedly entertained Trump’s pleas for the state legislature to send an alternate slate of electors to the Electoral College far enough to take a private meeting with the Donald at the White House in November 2020 and rooted for the state Board of Canvassers to vote against certifying the election is under criminal investigation by the Lansing Police Department over a complaint filed by his own sister-in-law who alleges Chatfield, 33, molested her beginning in 2009 when she was 15 and continued “sexual exploitation” of her until July 2021, the Lansing City Pulse reports.
The woman was a student at a school Chatfield taught at before he ran for office in 2014 and ran by his father, Rev Rusty Chatfield. The former speaker, whose time in office ended early last year owing to Michigan’s strict term limits for state lawmakers, briefly became CEO of a Southwest Michigan business development alliance before he was forced out over anti-LGBT comments.
