Stupid story as short as possible: During his Saturday rally, former President Trump claimed “The left is now rationing lifesaving therapeutics based on race, discriminating against and denigrating, just denigrating, white people to determine who lives and who dies. If you’re white, you don’t get the vaccine, or if you’re white, you don’t get therapeutics,” which of course was complete horseshit. The truth is that New York State guidelines on eligibility criteria includes “Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor, as longstanding systemic health and social inequities have contributed to an increased risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19,” listed as a sub-note on a memo titled “COVID-19 Oral Antiviral Treatments Authorized and Severe Shortage of Oral Antiviral and Monoclonal Antibody Treatment Products”.

The Missouri-based SSM Health system in the Fox News article is, obviously, not at all connected to the State of New York, but it’s a crusade du jour in MAGA World given the Orange God Emperor’s attention to the “issue” in which healthcare systems working to address overall quality-of-life disparities tip the scales a little toward those less fortunate as far as health outcomes go.

Also keep in mind this is a triage situation that the right wing media and politicians created with their “personal choice” bullshit over masks and vaccines. Had they just sucked it up and not politicized the virus there would not be any need to ration treatment for it right now. But MAGA.
