As many as 1,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded in action every day on the ground in Ukraine, Western officials and military experts tell the Washington Post as the invaders have achieved almost none of their initial objectives so far in the nearly month old conflict. Experts also say the Russian effort is on the verge of becoming unsustainable, as they have failed to move the front lines substantially at all in the past week, with losses and lack of resupply taking their toll.
Meanwhile, the Kyiv Independent’s Illia Ponomarenko reports Belarus is getting ready to send 20,000 of what he deems to be inexperienced and unmotivated personnel into Ukraine – and there is serious unrest in their ranks. On Saturday Visegrád 24 reported Belarusian railroad workers sabotaged train traffic into Ukraine to slow down the movement of troops and supplies.
