Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during his nightly televised address that he fired two military generals for being “antiheroes” disloyal to Ukraine, the Washington Post reports.
Many details of the statement are unclear: Who the generals were? What their offenses were and how were they uncovered? What will their fate be?
“I do not have time to deal with all the traitors. But gradually they will all be punished,” Zelenskyy said, adding: “Those servicemen among senior officers who have not decided where their homeland is, who violate the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people as regards the protection of our state, its freedom and independence, will inevitably be deprived of senior military ranks.”
