It was obviously more car than he could handle. Robert J. Guarini, a 50-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida wanted to take his new-to-him 2006 Ford GT Heritage edition on a spin around the neighborhood, and promptly ran it into a tree.
Apparently, Guarini didn’t know how to drive a stick shift–why he chose to pay $704,000 for a high performance car with a manual transmission on which to learn how to drive is a mystery–and as he exited his development, accidentally dropped the transmission into second gear and torqued the engine, Road and Track reports, running it into a palm tree.
