McDonald’s announced Monday it is seeking to sell its Russian business, with 850 restaurants and over 62,000 employees, to a local buyer as the attack on Ukraine has made its operations there “no longer tenable, nor is it consistent with McDonald’s values,” the AP reports. All Russian McD’s locations have been closed since early March, though it has continued to pay employees. No word on what the hell happened to the “Uncle Vanya’s” plan to appropriate Russian McDonald’s.
